All staff, volunteers, parents, and students of Awesome Dancer are required to observe child safe principles and expectations for appropriate behaviour towards and in the company of children, as noted below.
Awesome Dancer is responsible for supporting the safety, participation, well being and empowerment of all it’s students.
It is expected that every student will understand and uphold Awesome Dancer’s core values at all times.
We aim to build confidence in our students long after they leave their dance class.
We want you to feel welcomed to a place where you can form friendships with others who share the same passion.
We provide opportunities for equal participation giving everyone their chance to shine.
From the beginning we build a trusting relationship between our students and teachers to work together towards our goals.
We strive to create an enthusiastic atmosphere to motivate and bring the best out in our students.
We foster a child’s creativity by allowing them to explore themselves freely.
Behave in a manner that is respectful and will not endanger the health, safety and well being of themselves or others whilst attending classes, rehearsal or performances.
Abide by all health and safety rules and procedures operating within Awesome Dancer and take direction from staff if necessary in case of an emergency.
Respect the authority of members of staff, observe Awesome Dancer’s rules and strictly adhere to policies and procedures.
Behave with courtesy and consideration for others at all times by not using language or conduct which is likely to offend, harass, bully or unfairly discriminate against any student, teacher, parent or visitor. Awesome Dancer has a zero tolerance for bullying or harassment.
Refrain from any activities, conduct or communication that would reasonably be seen to undermine the reputation of Awesome Dancer (including activities on social media).
Respect Awesome Dancer’s property and the property of staff, visitors and other students.
Never leave the studio during class without permission from the teacher first and have a plan for meeting their parent at the conclusion of their classes.
Wear the appropriate dance attire and footwear outlined during enrolment to every class, event and rehearsal.
Agree not to use mobile phones or camera’s during class unless specified by your teacher for the purpose of home practice. Any footage or photography from within class, rehearsal or performance may not be posted on social media without prior consent from Awesome Dancer’s director first.
Only bring water to class. No other drinks or snacks are allowed during classes.
Refrain from touching, handling, pushing or otherwise physically or sexually engaging with students or others in a manner which is not appropriate and may endanger the health, safety and well being of that person.
Refrain from any form of physical or verbal violence including fighting, assault or threats of violence .
Not use inappropriate or profane words or gestures
All Awesome Dancer teachers and staff will follow our Behaviour Management Policy and the Behaviour Management Process when managing behaviour in their classes. Please let us know if you would like more information on this policy and process
